(regular radio in Canada and also via stream at the station&#8217;s website).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nNATIONAL FASTPITCH WILL BE LIVE ON THE DRIVE<\/p>\n<p>2006 Senior Men&#8217;s Canadian National Championship to Have Select<br \/>\nGames<br \/>\nBroadcast Live Across Canada by 99.3 The Drive<\/p>\n<p>For Immediate Release<br \/>\nAugust 2, 2006<\/p>\n<p>Prince George &#8211; 99.3 The Drive and the 2006 Senior Men&#8217;s Canadian<br \/>\nFast<br \/>\nPitch Championship Host Committee are pleased to announce a deal<br \/>\nto<br \/>\nbroadcast three championship games live, on the radio. The announcement<br \/>\nalso marks the first time that Softball Canada will have the<br \/>\ngames<br \/>\nbroadcast live across Canada, via the internet on the Drive website.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re excited to be connected with the tournament and know the<br \/>\npeople of<br \/>\nPrince George and the Central Interior, will be thrilled to listen<br \/>\nto<br \/>\nthese games which feature the elite Fast Pitch players from across<br \/>\nCanada,&#8221; said Ron Pollilo, Program Director for 99.3 The Drive.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We know these games will be extremely competitive, and will<br \/>\nprovide great<br \/>\nlistening entertainment for the people of our community. An added<br \/>\nfeature<br \/>\nwe&#8217;re proud of is that these games will be accessible to the<br \/>\nfans and<br \/>\nfamily members of the competing teams from across Canada via<br \/>\nour website<br \/>\nat 993thedrive.com&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Veteran broadcaster Allan Bristowe will call the games. Allan<br \/>\nis well<br \/>\nknown to sports fans, as the anchor at PGTV for the past 5 years.<br \/>\nAllan<br \/>\nis also a former Fast Pitch player himself, and has been involved<br \/>\nin many<br \/>\nother fastball championships, starting as the bat boy for the<br \/>\nhost team at<br \/>\nthe 1985 National Midget Boys Fastball championship in Prince<br \/>\nAlbert,<br \/>\nSaskatchewan. Allan went on to be the public address announcer<br \/>\nand color<br \/>\ncommentator at the 1996 National Midget Boys Fastball championship,<br \/>\nagain<br \/>\nin Prince Albert. In the 2001 National Midget Boys fastball championship,<br \/>\nAllan graduated to be the play by play announcer, guess where,<br \/>\nagain in<br \/>\nPrince Albert.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Calling fastball at its highest level will be exciting. I can<br \/>\nremember in<br \/>\n1985 watching a young Dean Holein run the show for the Melfort<br \/>\n222&#8217;s, and<br \/>\nwatching the 1996 Prince Albert Selects win their second straight<br \/>\nCanadian<br \/>\ntitle. In 2001 the final again featured the host team against<br \/>\nWaterford,<br \/>\nOntario. Between both of these teams, there were 9 players on<br \/>\nthe Canadian<br \/>\njunior men\u00c2\u2019s team. Now I get to call the games with the best<br \/>\nplayers in<br \/>\nCanada!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>99.3 The Drive will broadcast two Round Robin games which will<br \/>\nfeature the<br \/>\nhost Prince George Black Bears. These games include the Black<br \/>\nBears<br \/>\ncompeting against the Vancouver Grey Sox on Monday August 28th<br \/>\nat 8:00 pm,<br \/>\nand then again against the defending champions from St Thomas<br \/>\nOntario on<br \/>\nWednesday August 30th, again at 8:00 pm. Pre-game and post-game<br \/>\nshows<br \/>\nwill be a part of the broadcast. 99.3 The Drive will also be<br \/>\nbroadcasting<br \/>\nthe event Final Championship game at 1:30 pm on Sunday September<br \/>\n3rd.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This will help to make this Championship memorable,&#8221; said Host<br \/>\nCommittee<br \/>\nChairperson Allen Cummings. &#8220;It turns up the prestige of our<br \/>\nevent, and<br \/>\nenables those that may not be able to be at the park, to be able<br \/>\nto follow<br \/>\nthe games, which are going to pit Canada&#8217;s finest against one<br \/>\nanother for<br \/>\nthe honour of being the National Champions&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The 2006 Senior Men&#8217;s Canadian Fast Pitch Championship is scheduled<br \/>\nfor<br \/>\nAugust 27th to September 3rd, in Prince George at Spruce City<br \/>\nStadium.
