Recap - Upper Division:
The Provo Canyon Blues of Utah captured the upper
division " nafa aaa / aa " out of the losers bracket with back-to -back 7
- 0 shutouts over the Rez - men of Southern California behind the right
arm of Steve Morgan. The Rez - men knocked the Blues into the
loser's bracket on Saturday with a 5 - 0 victory. Provo Canyon responded
with a 5 - 0 defeat of the Colorado Rage, who finished in third.
Recap - Lower Division:
The Black Hills Redmen, a combined team of New
Mexico and South Dakota Native Americans, won four in a row to take the
lower division " NAFA A". The Redmen scored only 13 runs in
winning the Spring Swing, while giving up only 5. Their last two victories
were identical 3 - 1 margins over Defending Champion DC Current of
Indiana. DC Current moved into the final by defeating
the KHT Pumpers of Central California, 4-3. The Pumpers opened with
a 4 - 2 loss to the Redmen, and responded by winning 4 straight before
their loss to the Indiana squad. KHT finished in third place.
