In 2003, Fastpitchwest began to utilize audio and video as a way to bring the game home to you. With a big assist from the ISC's David Blackburn (see story at right), Fastpitchwest produced its first "internet audio" broadcasts this past season, from the 2003 NAFA World Series, including the "AAA" Championship game. (link below)

The games are delivered to the internet via a company called "Sportsjuice.com", widely used by many minor league baseball teams. "Internet Audio" permits the listener to click a link at our website, then sit back and listen to the broadcast of the game, either live, or later on our archives.

We expect to broadcast additional games during the 2004 season, so keep an eye on this page for schedule information.

2003 marked the third year of the ISC's "streaming audio" broadcasts, available online via a link through a private company called "SPORTSJUICE". Click the logo above to visit the ISC's Sportsjuice page.

The use of live, "streaming audio" broadcasts of men's fastpitch games was pioneered by one of Southern California's own, David Blackburn. David is still playing the game, pitching for the Ralph Trejo's So Cal Bombers, is a former ISC State Commissioner for California, and now heads up the ISC's internet broadcasts with broadcast partner, Ron Chambers, pictured above. David included us some of his early "trial" broadcasts from the 2001 Best of the West tournament, where we got a first-hand look at the technology for streaming audio. It wasn't long ago that we only dreamed of broadcasting fastpitch games on the internet. Hard to believe they're now in the third year of ISC World Tournament broadcasts.

Video webcasts can't be far behind.
