FRANKENMUTH — The Shaw Chiropractic men’s fastpitch softball team fell in the semifinals of the 10th annual Pete Schwab Memorial Fastpitch Tournament on Sunday afternoon.
Shaw posted a 3-2 record in the three-day, 16-team tournament.
Coach Kurt Schieman’s team suffered a 3-2 loss to the Alvinston (Ontario) Indians in the semifinals.
“All in all, we’re right there with the teams at our level,” Schieman said. “I knew it would come down to the three best teams here. Alvinston and Ashland (Ohio) Stock Pack or us could have won it.
“We played well this weekend. We had a good tournament.”
Dewey Dyck was on the mound for Shaw’s two contests Sunday. He gave up five hits in the semifinals and shut down the Capitals from Westerville, Ohio, in an 11-3 quarterfinal victory. Click here for the complete story and photos.
