Greetings Men’s Fastpitch Community,
Here are the details of the 2012 31st Annual Father’s Day Tournament. This year, we are implementing a 4-game guarantee format that provides an opportunity for any team in the tournament to go home with a little hardware. This new format is exciting as teams of any experience and caliber level can enter and succeed.
First Round/Seeding Round:
After an initial round of two games, teams are filtered into 1 of three brackets based on their performance in the first two games. First game winners will play other first round winners and first round losers will play other first round losers.
Championship Bracket Round:
Teams will be placed into 1 of three brackets to be classified as AA-Major, AA, or A-Major based on their performance in the seeding round. Teams in the round will fight it out within their class in a double-elimination format. Each championship bracket will have 1st and 2nd place trophies, Most Valuable Pitcher, Most Valuable Hitter, and All-Tournament selections.
All-Tournament Selection:
Competition level, sportsmanship and camaraderie are all big parts of the Men’s fast-pitch game in Texas. For that reason, the coach or team captain for each team will select 2 players from the opposing team as their all-tourney votes after each game. The players on the top 4 teams receiving the most votes will receive an all-tournament team trophy. The championship team coach will still pick their Most valuable pitcher and hitter.
The goal of our tournament is to encourage a broader range of teams to compete in the tournament and to provide the most enjoyable Father’s Day experience possible for players and families. We hope to see you out there. Please see the attached flyer for additional tournament details.
We want to remind all teams and coaches that the first 10 teams registered by May 18th will receive a $25 discount to the tournament fees.
