The Hill United Chiefs, based out of Ohsweken, Ont., scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 3-2 win over the homestanding Hallman Twins in the championship game of the International Softball Congress World Topurnament over the weekend.
It also made world champions of four Newfoundlanders suiting up for the Chiefs — outfielders Brad Ezekiel of Harbour Main and Jason Hill of St. John’s, infielder Stephen Mullaley of Freshwater and field manager John Hill of St. John’s.
All three players are members of Canada’s national team.
