COLFAX — Putting it mildly, fast pitch softball is staving off a death sentence in Colfax.
In a time when the sport of men’s fast pitch softball is a dying breed in Northern California, this tiny hamlet in the foothills will host its 49th annual Colfax Men’s Fast Pitch Classic this weekend.
Can the tournament get to its 50th year in 2015?
“We’re sure and the heck going to give it our best shot,” said Ed Marson of the sponsoring Colfax Recreation Association. “If there are teams that want to come and play here every August, we’ll keep it going.”
This year, just like the swallows flock back to San Juan Capistrano, 10 men’s teams from around Northern California will beckon back to Colfax to try their luck at bagging the tournament crown. Click here to read the complete story and view photo at The Auburn Journal.
