From the official SCIFL website, updated brackets on Sunday:
AA/AA Major Division
In the upper AA/AA Major division, the winner’s bracket final features Ohio Battery against CR Brewers. Ohio nipped the Rhinos in their opener, 6-5, then edged J&B Painting 3-1. CR Brewers had an easier go of it, defeating Santa Cecilia Mexico 5-1, then knocking off Randy’s A’s from British Columbia, 7-1. (Randy’s A’s finished last season ranked #13 in the world, following a good run at the ISC World Tournament knocking off Midland and the Cubs before being eliminated by the # 2 ranked New York Gremlins).
In the loser’s bracket, Randy’s A’s will face Browning, which defeated the Rhinos and Ostrander in a 945am Sunday morning game, while J&B will face the winner of last night’s Rhinos v. Santa Cecilia game, which pits familiar foes.
In the intermediate A Major division, Maccabi USA and the Colorado Rage will square off in the winner’s bracket final Sunday morning at 945am. Maccabi is a perfect 3-0, with a 7-2 win over the Colorado Knights, 5-0 over Brian’s Blackhawks and a 10-3 trouncing of the K-Club from Washington State. Following a first round bye, the Colorado Rage won both of their games, 3-1 over the So Cal Aces, and 7-4 over the Richmond Stealers from British Columbia.
In the loser’s bracket, K-Club and the Stealers will face the survivors of the rest of the field, each drawing the eye-opening game Sunday at 8am.
A dominant Press Box team will face the also unbeaten Buzzards Sunday in the winner’s bracket final at 1130am. Press Box has cruised through the field thus far, with a 5-1 win over a solid Balboa team, 8-2 over the Sykos, finishing Saturday by crushing the Brew Crew, 14-1. The Buzzards knocked off the Northwest Naturals from Washington State, edged the Rio Grande Alliance 4-3, and slipped by the Austin Blue Jays from Texas, 6-5.
