Her passing was caused by pneumonia, a complication of Inclusion Body Myositis, the disease she had courageous battled the past 20 years. Kay was born May 3rd 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard Hindley and Alice Fullerton Taylor. She graduated from Highland High school in 1966. That same year, Kay married her sweetheart, Vaughn Alvey in the Salt Lake City Temple, on August 31st. Kay’s favorite hobbies were running, playing tennis, and giggling. Kay tirelessly attended and loved watching her husband, children and grandchildren play sports. Kay made sure her home was always a gathering place for her children’s friends and welcomed all with love and fresh baked cookies. When her kids were grown, Kay loved working as an FN for Dr. Greg Tanner MD, where she enjoyed serving patients and touched many lives. One of her greatest passions was documenting her family though journals, genealogy, photographs, and scrapbooks. Kay was a faithful and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kay will be remembered as selfless & brave and despite her health challenges; she never complained and always had a smile on her face and a contagious sense of humor.
