Some of the the New Zealand Black Sox’s top hitters and pitchers have shown encouraging form as they quest for a record seventh world title in Canada.
Mark Sorenson’s side, which will defend their world championships title in Saskatoon at the end of June, began the first leg of their warm-up in Calgary, winning two games against the the Calgary Sox by comfortable 8-0 margins after an impressive offensive display.
Veteran slugger Brad Rona, who is set to play in his fifth world championships since 2000, batted 1.000 with three hits and Thomas Enoka cracked an automatic home run in his first at-bat and batted in five runs.
