The comment below was posted to the page displaying the YouTube video of the 2015 WBSC World Championship gold medal game by Jim Williamson. As many/most of you know, Jim was one of the founders of the North Amnerican Fastpitch Association (NAFA) and is one of the game’s most asute observers.
I thought the comment warranted a blog post of its own, in case any of you missed it.

The seeds for Canada’s Championship in the WBSC World Championship were sewn at Softball Canada’s 2015 Senior Mens Championship. 3Cheers Pub/Bud Light won Softball Canada’s senior men’s championship in early September in Charlottetown, P.E.I., defeating another St. John’s based team, Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs, in that sport’s first all-Newfoundland Canadian final.
It was the third straight national softball crown for 3Cheers Pub/Bud Light, erasing all those oh-so-close memories at the nationals. I watched nearly every game of that Championship. That was the most competitive tournament I have ever watched in my 50 years in the game. Canada’s players were well prepared for the WBSC Championship.
