A tight game was decided in the eighth inning as USA Men’s National Team fell to Canada 3-2 in eight innings on Monday at Ajax Pan Am Ballpark.
Josh Johnson was hot from the plate for USA Men’s National Team. Johnson went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.
Sean Cleary got the win for Canada. He allowed two runs over eight innings. He struck out 16, walked six and surrendered four hits.
Canada was sparked by Jeff Ellsworth and Mathieu Roy, who teamed up for three hits and two RBIs.
Gerald Muizelaar was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just 4 1/3 innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed one run.
The game was scoreless until USA Men’s National Team broke the ice with one run in the fourth. USA Men’s National Team scored on a solo home run by Johnson.
Canada went up for good in the eighth, scoring one run on a single by Jason Hill.
