Argentina has one the last two WBS to Junior men’s competitions, earning their first ever metal, a gold, while hosting the event at Parana, Argentina in 2012.
Argentina successfully defended their gold medal in 2014, topping New Zealand in the finale, and seek to three-peat this year at Midland Michigan.
The last team to win three consecutive Junior men’s world championships, was Australia, who dominated the division for 16 years, winning four consecutive gold medals in 1997, 2001, 2005 and 2008, when the competition was held every four years.
The USA Junior men’s team finished fifth in 2014, just missing the 14 medal round by one game, and going on to win the consolation bracket thereafter.
