MOLINE, Ill. — The Midland Explorers Legends men’s fastpitch team took second out of 12 teams last weekend at the International Softball Congress 50-and-over tournament.
After going through pool play on Thursday and early Friday, Midland won its first playoff game 9-0 over Wisconsin Insurance Company on Friday night.
Greg Wright was the winning pitcher, while Bryan Kuehne was 2-for-3 with two runs batted in and Steve O’Keefe was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
On Saturday in the semifinal round, Midland beat defending 50-and-over national champion Durham Bulls 8-3.
Doug Sleep earned the win. Todd Schultz was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Timm Richardson was 2-for-3, Steve Bohn was 2-for-4, and Kuehne and Mike Hoon each had two RBIs.
