MOLINE, Ill. — Cutro Professional Inspections (CPI), a fast-pitch softball team based in Oswego, has won the International Softball Congress II World Tournament.
CPI won the championship game 8-1 over the Shakespeare Falcons of Shakespeare, Ontario on Thursday at the Green Valley Sports Complex.
CPI is managed by Mike Cutro of Oswego. The team includes several players from Oswego County including Mark Blanchard, Mike Sorzickas, Tom Darling, Dylan Vaughn, Greg Casbeer, Josh Buckley, and Greg Lavery. Sam Roes, Jeff Mayer, and Dusty Zehr, all of Lewis County, also play for CPI.
Rounding out the roster are Perez Volquez and Eddie Leonardo from the Dominican Republic, Caleb Keeshig from Ontario, Canada, Jonas Mach from the Czech Republic, and Jorge Sepulveda of Schenectady.
The road to the ISC II world title for CPI actually began in the 40-team ISC I World Tournament with all the top teams in the world.
