The USA Men’s National team will compete in the 2017 WBSC Men’s World Championship in Whitehorse Yukon, July 7-16, 2017.
The USA Softball Men’s Fast Pitch National National Team has won five World Championships (1966, 1968, 1976, 1980 and 1988). Like the Los Angeles Dodgers, their last world championship was 29 years ago.
The USA Men’s team last medaled at the World Championship in 2004 at the ISF Men’s World Championship in Christchurch, New Zealand where they finished third and won bronze.
The 1988 World Championships were held in Saskatoon, Canada. The team played 13 games in the round robin round. The United States beat Australia 21-1 in one game in this round.[1][2] The team competed at the 1992 ISF Men’s World Championship in Manila, Philippines where they finished with 10 wins and 3 losses.[3] The team competed at the 1996 ISF Men’s World Championship in Midland, Michigan where they finished with 10 wins and 4 losses.[4] The team competed at the 2000 ISF Men’s World Championship in East London, South Africa where they finished third.[5] The team competed at the 2004 ISF Men’s World Championship in Christchurch, New Zealand where they finished third.[6][7]The team competed at the 2009 ISF Men’s World Championship in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where they finished fourth.[8][9]

For the upcoming 2017 WBSC Men’s World Championship in Whitehorse Yukon July 7-16, 2017, they will compete in one of two eight (8) team pools:

Editor’s note: At the conclusion of the above pool play games, the top 4 team in their pool will advance to an 8 team playoff round, to be played July 14-16, 2017. The bronze and gold medal games will be played on Sunday, July 16.
The last WBSC Men’s World Championship was played two years ago, in Saskatoon, Canada, where the USA men did not qualify for the championship round. In that event, Canada won gold, New Zealand silver and Venezuela bronze.
