USA Men’s National Team defeated Canada 6-5 on Friday.
Canada took an early lead in the second inning. Patrick Burns drove in one when he singled in the second inning.
After USA Men’s National Team scored two runs in the top of the fifth, Canada answered with two of their own. USA Men’s National Team scored when Erick Ochoa homered off of Ryan French, driving in two runs. Canada then answered when Jason Hill homered off of Tony Mancha, driving in two runs.
USA Men’s National Team took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Yusef Davis homered off of Scott Lieph, driving in one run and Tyler Dudley singled off of Lieph, driving in one run.
Mancha earned the win for USA Men’s National Team. He pitched five innings, surrendering four runs, seven hits, striking out six, and walking zero. Lieph took the loss for Canada. He tossed three innings, allowing three runs, four hits, and striking out one.
Home runs for USA Men’s National Team came when Ochoa homered in the fifth inning and Davis homered in the third inning. Home runs for Canada came when Hill homered in the fifth inning and Bryn Redhead homered in the fourth inning.
Hill led Canada with two runs batted in. He went 3-for-4 on the day.
