As the 2017 Pan-American Championship Medal Round Sunday, there are six teams battling it out response in those games. The playoff round began on Friday, September 22, 2017, with fans being treated to some great games. The top four teams were seeded in “double life” matchups Friday and treated fans to some closely fought contests.
Double Life Games (USA v. ARG)
The USA defeated Canada, 6-5, behind the pitching of Tony Mancha and empowered by home runs from Eric Ochoa and Yusef Davis.
Argentina overcame an early Venezuela lead, to win their game 5-4.
The winners of those two games the USA and Argentina will square off in the “Double Life” final Saturday at 2 PM EDT (likely 4 PM EDT due to rain delay).
Elimination Games (Cuba v. Venezuela; Canada v. Mexico)
The other four remaining teams, Canada, Venezuela, Cuba, and Mexico will square off elimination games, for the right to play the loser of the USA v. Argentina in the bronze medal game.
Cuba will take on Venezuela in the early contest, followed by Mexico versus Canada in the afternoon game.
