A valiant effort by Team USA fell just short in the Bronze Medal game as they fell to Venezuela, 5-4. Trailing 4-2, they tied the game 4-4 on a 2 out single by Cameron Schiller. Venezuela came right back to score the winning run in the bottom of the 6th.
For the USA, the bronze medal was the first in international competition since 2003, some 14 years.
Kevin Castillo and Yusef Davis each had two hits in the losing effort, each a double and single.
Venezuela advances to the gold medal game against Argentina.
At the last Pan American Championship, in 2015 at Toronto, Venezuela won the silver medal, while Argentina won bronze. (Canada won the gold)(
