SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic — With only one game remaining in the round robin at the Pan American Men’s Softball Championship, six teams qualified for Barranquilla 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games. Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala and Bahamas clinched their spot in the regional Games, while the last team will be the Dominican Republic or Panama.
The 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games will be held in Barranquilla, Colombia, from July 20 to August 3, 2018. These Games is a multi-sport event held every four years since 1926 in different cities and countries from Central American and Caribbean Sea region and is the oldest regional multi-sport event in the world. The event is coordinated by the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization (ODECABE).
The Pan American Championship qualifies six teams to Barranquilla, one of them destined to the English Caribbean area, and the other five for the best qualified teams from the region. For ECASC, Bahamas advanced to the Games being fifth in Pool B.
