USA Softball Men’s National Team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-1 loss to Czech Republic on Thursday. Czech Republic scored on a double by Tomas Klein and a single by Petr Vacha in the first inning.
USA Softball Men’s National Team lost despite out-hitting Czech Republic six to three.
In the first inning, Czech Republic got their offense started. Klein drove in two when he doubled.
Czech Republic scored three runs in the fourth inning. Czech Republic scored its runs on a home run by Vaclav Svoboda.

It was the second time in two days that Vaclav Svoboda keyed a Czech win with a 3 run homer. Just yesterday, Svoboda hit a 3 run homer in the 7th, to topple European rival Denmark. Today, against the USA, Svoboda broke the game open, turning a 3-0 Czech lead into an insurmoutable 6-0 lead. The great ones rise to the occasion, and Svoboda is doing just that in front of the home town crowd, one that is sure to excite Czech fans around the country for the coming World Championship next summer in 2019.
Michal Holobradek was the winning pitcher for Czech Republic. He went seven innings, allowing one run on six hits and striking out 12.
Tony Mancha took the loss for USA Softball Men’s National Team. He allowed three hits and six runs over three and a third innings, striking out six.
USA Softball Men’s National Team tallied six hits. Matt Palazzo and Jonathan Lynch each had multiple hits for USA Softball Men’s National Team. Lynch and Palazzo each collected two hits to lead USA Softball Men’s National Team.
