On Sunday, September 2, 2018, following the conclusion of the inaugural Intercontinental Softball Cup at Prague, Czech Republic, the gold-medal winning New Zealand Black Sox played an exhibition game against a team of European all-stars at Havlickuv Brod Stadium at Hippos Arena.
The host, Team Europe came away with the victory, 6-5. Denmark’s Kim Hansen was the winning pitcher, while Campbell Gibson took the loss. Once again, it was the Czech Republic’s Vaclav Svoboda coming up big with a home run in the 8th inning that proved to be the game winner. Svoboda had two game winning home runs during the Intercontinental Cup.
