OKLAHOMA CITY – The Softball Capital of the World® is set to host the USA Softball Men’s Major Fast Pitch National Championship for the second-straight year as some of the top men’s fast pitch players in the world arrived today in Oklahoma City, Okla. Kicking off tomorrow, August 6, and concluding on Sunday, August 8, the premier men’s fast pitch tournament welcomes 15 teams from across the nation who will vie for the coveted Championship title. Participating teams include AWP Lumberjacks (Anna Schmitt), Bar on the Avenue Buzz (Justin Colombo), Bear Bottom Lodge (Codi Pannebecker), Circle Tap Dukes (Dean Kane), Fishers Softball (Sean King), Hallman Twins (Ron Hackett), Hill United Chiefs (Jeff Ellsworth), Kegel Black Knights (Mike Lewis), Marchio Sausage Co. (Dave Marchio), Midland Explorers (David Lach), NY Gremlins (Gregg Leather), OMMA Tigres (Juan Medrano), Ray Rays Sports Bar Misfits (Steve Prado), Rio Grande Senators (Dave Parker), and San Antonio Glowworm (David Rios). The tournament begins on Friday, August 6 at 4 p.m. CT with Bear Bottom Lodge facing off against Marchio Sausage Co. on USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium – OGE Energy Field. AWP Lumberjacks will take on Midland Explorers on INTEGRIS Field and Field 3 will see Hallman Twins versus San Antonio Glowworm. Play continues through the weekend, with the Championship Game set for 12 p.m. CT on USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium – OGE Energy Field on August 8. ? The Men’s Major Fast Pitch National Championship dates back to 1933 when USA Softball, known then as the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America, was founded during the World’s Fair in Chicago, Ill. Since then, the top men’s fast pitch players in the world have continued to take part in the tournament and grow the game. Previously held at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex, the 2020 edition saw 11 teams compete for the trophy with Kegel Black Knights proving victorious with an 8-1 victory of the NY Gremlins to earn the 2020 Men’s Major Fast Pitch National Championship title. Admission, which will be sold at the gate of the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex, is $7 per-day for spectators, with free admission for children five-and-under.
