Los Nietos encountered some wind damage to the fencing on the West field and the City of Santa Fe Springs has canceled all field reservations on this field through the month of March and maybe into April so we will only be able to use field 2 for this tournament. With the loss of one field we are going to change the format to a two game round robin followed by a single elimination. Games will be 1 hour 20 minutes drop dead for Saturday’s round robin. For the single elimination on Sunday, games will be 1 hour 20 minutes no new inning. If the inning ends in a tie, the tie-breaker rule will be in effect. The Championship game will be 7 innings.
This will be a two day event and the cost is $360.00. Teams paying online, please use the 1-day Alliance Tournament to make the payment. SCIFL can now accept Zelle using the email address scifastpitch@gmail.com to make payments as well.
As a friendly reminder, all bats need to have the new annual decal tamper proof sticker for it to be allowed in play.
Finally, I reached out to the City of Santa Fe Springs to determine if the fields will be playable this weekend. Their response was that it was too early to determine so as of right now, we are playing this weekend. I will let everyone know as soon as possible if the City decides to cancel the tournament.
Sincerely,
