“Building upon our most recent finish is paramount and our focus now is putting in the work to be in a position to become world champions in 2025. We have a great group here that will most certainly push each other towards that goal,” said head coach Ron Hackett.
USA Softball announced a list of athletes who have been identified for the Men’s National Team for next year’s season. A total of 35 athletes will be considered for selection to the 2024 National Team who will compete at the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Group Stage event in Oklahoma City, USA, from 17 to 21 September.
“It’s certainly exciting to announce this group of players leading into 2024,” said head coach Ron Hackett. “We are excited at the blend of experience and youth we have in our program and this group of men embodies that. Building upon our most recent finish is paramount and our focus now is putting in the work to be in a position to become world champions in 2025. We have a great group here that will most certainly push each other towards that goal.”

The list includes all 16 athletes from the 2022 USA team that clinched the bronze medal at the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup 2022, marking USA’s first medal in the competition in 22 years. The roster also features four members of the U-18 National Team which finished fourth in the World Cup played in Hermosillo last month: Logan Boom, Brennan DuCharme, Braden DuCharme and Cody Gibbons. The latter two were named to the All-World Team as a designated player and pitcher respectively.
The upcoming WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup will be the first in its history to be played under the new two-stage format where the Group Stage and Finals will be held in consecutive years. Prince Albert, Canada, will host one of the groups from 10 to 14 July, while the Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City will receive a second group, from 17 to 21 September. The host of the third group will be announced at a later stage. The Finals will take place in Prince Albert, Canada from 8 to 13 July, 2025.
As host of a WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Group Stage event, No. 5 USA has been granted an automatic spot in its respective group event.
