ALAN PEKER hit two home runs and drove in four as HILL UNITED CHIEFS defeated New York Gremlins 7-1 on Saturday. PEKER homered in the third and seventh innings.
The bottom of the lineup was strong for HILL UNITED CHIEFS. PIPILO (EDGAR) LOPEZ, PEKER, and TONY GONZALEZ combined for five of the team’s seven hits in their victory. They scored four runs and drove in four. HILL UNITED CHIEFS got on the board in the third inning after PEKER homered to right field, scoring two runs. HILL UNITED CHIEFS scored three runs in the top of the fifth on a home run to right field by BRADLEY EZEKIEL.
HILL UNITED CHIEFS scored two runs in the top of the seventh on a home run to right field by PEKER.
MARCO DIAZ earned the win for HILL UNITED CHIEFS. The starter gave up four hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking two. Jack Besgrove took the loss for New York Gremlins. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits, striking out nine and walking one. GONZALEZ collected two hits for HILL UNITED CHIEFS in three at bats. HILL UNITED CHIEFS turned one double play in the game. HILL UNITED CHIEFS didn’t commit a single error in the field. BRUNO MOTRONI had the most chances in the field with nine.
Erick Ochoa, Ladislao Malarczuk, Mathieu Roy, and Abelardo Penuelas each collected one hit for New York Gremlins. New York Gremlins were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Nick Mullins had the most chances in the field with nine.
