Broken Bow scored single runs in the 1st, 2nd and 4th innings, and broke things open in the 6th with 3 more. Frank Cox was masterful, surrendering only 3 hits while striking out 7.
The Spirit scored their run in the first on a lead off single by Ryan Wolfe, who stole second and third, and scored on a sacrifice fly to right by Darren Box. In the second inning, Sean O'Brien singled, and was out on an interference call. Casley, aboard on the fielder's choice, scored on a single by Mike Taylor. Bow added another in the fourth on a solo home run over the centerfield fence by Rhys Casley. The big inning for Broken Bow came in the sixth when Jarrad Martin drew a walk, Darren Box singled, with Martin scoring. Jody Eidt tripled, driving home Martin, and scored on a single by Joe Morales.
Jesse Duncan, Chris Hunt and Paul Reyes had the hits for Team Rainey. Cox had a one-hitter going into the 7th, but Rainey would not go quietly. Ryan Wolfe ran through the portable fencing in centerfield to rob Nate Devine of a home run, to start the inning. Rainey loaded the bases, with hits by Duncan and Reyes and an infield error but Cox retired the side, and Broken Bow claimed the Rose Cup championship trophy.
