Primetime Wins Alliance Tournament at Palm Springs

Primetime fastpitch rallied from down 4-1 and overcame several defensive miscues to top the Amigos 6-4 in the championship game of the third Alliance weekend of the 2005 season.

Primetime’s Joe Fernandez and Keith Barker had three hits each in the win. Dan Zupp was the winning pitcher for Primetime, with Julian Martinez taking the loss.

Primetime defeated Rude Pac in one semifinal while the Amigos bested the Rounders 5-3 in extra innings after regulation play ended in a 2-2 tie.

Primetime and the Amigos went into the weekend as the top two teams in the standings, and separated themselves from the rest of the pack, at 48 and 43 points, respectively, while the next team, the Rounders rose to third at 36 points. The complete standings are posted at at the SoCal ASA website.
