Editor’s notes: Five pitchers! Will any team in Orlando have a pitching staff this deep? I remember when Penn Corp has four of the top pitchers around, they used to refer to them as the “Four Aces”. Trivia bonus points – can anyone name those four pitchers from Penn Corp? (see answer after the jump)

Keep an eye out for the next issue of Softball Magazine, which has a feature story on the team from the Bahamas, “The Real Pirates of the Caribbean”. The team has come a long way since winning the consolation bracket in 2004, finishing third in last year’s event, falling to Broken Bow in the semi-finals.

Trivia answer: The “Four Aces” for Penn Corp were Paul Magan, Steve Schultz, Jimmy Seaman and Pete Sandman. Penn Corp won back-to-back titles in 1988 and 1989. I confess that I could only think of three, but got an assist from Bob Tomlinson, publisher of the Fastpitch Chronicle for the fourth, Jimmy Seaman, who Bob mentions was later known as Jimmy Wana.
