19th Annual Missouri Boys’ High School Fastpitch Tournament – Oct 2-3 – Chillicothe, Missouri

The 19th annual Missouri Boys’ High School Fastpitch Tournament will be held this Friday and Saturday at Danner Park in Chillicothe, Missouri.

There are currently 18 boys’ teams playing fastpitch in the NW corner of the state. A new bracket this year features a 13 team field.

The top 3 seeds receive a bye and then join everyone else in Friday night’s second round games.
Last year a consolation bracket was added and received many positive comments.

Missouri Boys State Fastpitch Tournament

Coaches:

Congratulations on a successful softball season. Your team has earned a spot in the 2010-11 Missouri Boys State Fastpitch Softball Tournament. The tournament is comprised of the top teams in the state that play boys fastpitch softball.

The tournament includes 13 of the 18 teams from around the state. Representing the HDC Conference in Northern Missouri are Tri-County, North Harrison, Gilman City, Pattonsburg, Grundy County, Newtown-Harris, Winston and Mercer. Representing the PVC Conference from Northwest Missouri is Jefferson. Representing the CLAA Conference in North Central Missouri are Tina-Avalon, Hale, Meadville and Northwestern.

All games for the tournament will be played on October 1-2, 2010 at Danner Park in Chillicothe, Missouri. The fields are located east of the Chillicothe Country Club and south of the Green Hills Golf Course near the hospital. Games will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and conclude with the Championship at 3:00 on Saturday.

Newtown-Harris will be making programs for the tournament. All schools involved should e-mail

Do not add additional adult spots to your passlist.

Each school is required to provide a new game ball for each game. We are looking forward to another exciting and competitive tournament this year. Good luck to all the teams and we look forward to seeing you at the State Tournament!

Missouri Boys State Softball Tournament
October 1-2, 2010
Chillicothe, Missouri

Rules to follow are those established by the Missouri State High School Activities Association. Special Tournament Rules are as follows:

Teams must have 9 players to begin a game.

Friday night games-the top team on the bracket shall be the home team.
Saturday games-the home team will be determined by a coin flip.

The top team in each bracket pairing will use the third base dugout (unless one of the teams just played on the field).

Games will be 7 innings. Run rules in effect- 15 after 3 or 10 after 5.
Extra innings will use international tie breaking procedures.
(the last batter to complete their official “at-bat” will start as the runner on second base).
No tie breaking rules in the Championship game.

Each team must supply 1 game ball for each game played in the tournament. Please bring at least 4 new game balls.

No infield practice between games.

Line-ups need to be turned in 10 minutes before the game begins.
Home team score book will be the official book. This bookkeeper needs to be an adult.
Visiting team will provide someone to operate the scoreboard.

The concession stand will be provided by the Chillicothe Parks Department.

Admission will be $4.00 for Adults/$3.00 for Students. Please inform your parents and supporters. The money raised will be used to pay for the umpires, trophies, and other tournament expenses.

Trophies and individual medals (20) will be awarded for First, Second, Third, and Fourth Places.
There will be no Consolation trophy or medals.
