Hustlers set to start sophmore season
The new year has come and the Hustlers Fastpitch team is set to start another season of softball. We will be competing in the C division of the ASA Alliance tournament season. Last year we finished in the middle of the pack but due to the movement of a few of the top teams to the B division and the additions of some experienced veterans and a couple of talented young players the Hustlers are poised to jump up to the top of the division.

Hustlers founder and pitcher Bobby Cole will be returning to shoulder the majority of the pitching duties as will Danny Cole to play any position on the field when needed. B.C.’s cousin Dave Hess also returns as the everyday center fielder and will also be helping out with the pitching. Hustlers MVP
Jay Lopez returns and is poised to lead the league in many offensive categories. Invaluable to the success of the pitching staff is Daniel Roth who will be behind the plate for most of the games. The teams General Manager, Steve Proffitt comes back and will try to defend his triples title and add to his home run total. After a breakout year at the plate, Joe Janicke will be back to try and improve on his .400 average. Newcomers to the team are Larry Watts, who impressed the team with his play at the Cal Cup and can play any position on the field and the Shaw family of Doug, Kenny, Matt and Kasey. Doug is an experienced veteran with a big time bat and National Championship experience. Kenny is another veteran of National Championships and is a team leader with excellent defensive skills and will also be trying his hand at pitching. Matt has been labeled as one of the best young hitting talents in the SoCal area. Kasey will be getting his first taste of extended playing time and looks to be another in the long line of fine fastpitch playing Shaws. Overall the Hustlers will be competing in 10-15 tournaments this year and expectations are very high.
