2011 Best of the West Team Profile – J & B Painting

J & B Painting, of Moorpark, California is one of ten teams competing in this year’s 2011 Best of the West (BOTW) tournament. They’ll be competing in Pool A against the California A’s, Liberty Fastpitch, Those Guys and Bakersfield Silverhawks.

J&B Painting is a local tournament team founded in 2003 by flamboyant local businessman and DH Bob Berger. He also doubles as one of the sponsors of the Cali-Mex Rhinos. J&B’s pitchers are Cory Avery and Gerald Pyle. 2010 ASA Class A All-American Eli Salazar patrols centerfield and Team MVP Chris Paiva plays shortstop. Up and comer, young Mario Marquez (San Luis,MX) is quickly becoming one of the most talked about Catchers in the west. J&B has won 2 of the last 3 tournaments they have entered (2010 Breeder-Rupp, and Scifl #4) They are coached by softball veteran Billy Eleamos.
