Plot spoiler warning: Elizabeth Shue rakes Hanker, slides past Budke
Here is the inside scoop from Fred Hanker on how he and friends Todd Budke and Kenny Harley came to be in the show:
The first week of March I was contacted by Carol Gable a production coordinator with the show CSI Las Vegas. She informed me that they were shooting an upcoming episode where a fastpitch softball game was being played. She found me via a internet search for men’s fast pitch softball in Southern California. She proceeded to research more and decided to give me the opportunity. I play # 9 Hemminger a pitcher for The Las Vegas Vice softball team. I brought Todd Budke as my catcher who is playing Varansky # 17. Kenny “The Jet” Harley plays the lightning fast right fielder Samford # 30. We did the shot March 14 and we were out there about 12 hours. The food was fantastic and the cast and crew were phenomenal. It was a great experience seeing how a successful television show is constructed and all that goes into it. I’m not sure how much actual camera time each of us will get so you have to tune in to find out. I am figuring since myself and Todd Budke were the pitcher and the catcher we should get on camera at some point. I get to pitch to Elizabeth Shue and she hits a triple off me. Todd has a great scene at the plate where Elizabeth Shue slides safe into home with the winning run for The CSI Softball team as he tags her late. I get credited with the loss. I must have thrown over 500 pitches and since you keep shooting over and over I lost the equivalent of about 100 games. I look forward to the finished product tomorrow night.

After that pitching performance on CSI Las Vegas by Fred Hanker, we are seriously considering moving Fred up to NAFA AA-Major. 🙂
