Maccabi Wins Their Third SCIFL weekend title of 2012

[SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA] – Maccabi USA Fastpitch Team won the July 7th, one-day So. Cal. Independent Fastpitch League (SCIFL) championship, posting a 3 -1 win-loss record. In Game 1, Maccabi USA was beaten by Balboa Fastpitch 5 -4 in a tough tie-breaker. John Horn started and Ronnie Rupp relieved. Chris Paiva got the walk-off game winning RBI single. In the second Round-Robin game Maccabi USA defeated San Diego Prime Time 6 -2 with Jason Gluckman getting the complete game pitching victory over Randy Clay. Spencer Silverstein homered for Maccabi USA.

In the first playoff round game Maccabi was set for a rematch with San Diego Prime Time, where Maccabi won the back and forth comeback battle 7 -4 in the tie-breaker inning. Ronnie Rupp started and gave up only one run in 4 innings of work, making his return to SCIFL after a near -2 year injury layoff. Jason Gluckman relieved Rupp in the 5th to get the hard fought pitching victory. In the Championship game against Liberty Fastpitch, Jason Gluckman started, and got the 11 -3 , 5 inning, run-rule shortened game victory over veteran Liberty hurler Matt Barnes, with Lumar Goss pitching a relief inning, replacing Barnes.

Stellar performance by Jason Gluckman with a 3-0 pitching record, and a Home Run in the opening game.

  1. I met player Larry Lorin this past weekend and he said there was a fastpitch game scheduled
    in Santa Fe Springs. My girlfriend and I would love to see his team play. We live in Orange County so
    we are not to far from this area. We did not get a chance to exchange information so that is why I’m contacting this Association. Hope to hear back from you soon.

      Maccabi USA will be hosting its 4th annual Breeder-Rupp Tournament on Dec 7-8 at Little Lake Park in Santa Fe Springs. The guy who organizes the Tournament is Larry Silfen. Larry can be reached at:
