Santa Rosa CA wins 7 in a row for 2012 NAFA “A” crown

Santa Rosa California beat Tower Junction Wisconsin twice on Sunday, capping a remarkable run after losing their third game of the tournament. Santa Rosa won two last night, then returned to play Sunday morning, winning games at 8, 9:45 and 11:30am to get to the championship game, then beating Tower Junction twice for the NAFA “A” crown. Santa Rosa brought their bats on Sunday, powering their offense with the long ball. Brian Macler was selected as the Most Valuable Player in the tournament.

Most Valuable Pitching honors went to Santa Rosa’s Lamar Goss, who pitched during the regular season in the SCIFL for the Palm Springs Express. Goss won the first championship game, 8-1 in 6 innings, and the second 10-6, winning five games on Sunday, and all 7 in a 24 hour period. Marc Young led the team in homers with seven, with the team tallying twenty. All World honors went to Nick Green, Dustin Green, Marc Young and Casey Hillman.
