[LANCASTER PA] – USA Men’s National Team and PA Power lit up the scoreboard on Saturday as they combined for 23 runs. In the end, USA Men’s National Team won the offensive battle 12-11 in eight innings.
There were 23 hits, including nine extra base hits in the game.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the eighth, with five lead changes.
USA Men’s National Team took the lead in the eighth inning and held on for the victory. A walk by Matt Palazzo scored Nick Mullins and gave USA Men’s National Team the lead for good.
Palazzo, Chase Turner, Chris Miljavic and Pat Sagdal helped lead USA Men’s National Team. They combined for seven hits and six RBIs.
Greg Garrity was charged with the loss. He allowed 11 runs in 7 2/3 innings, walked 15 and struck out four.
USA Men’s National Team closer Tony Mancha put away the final 10 outs to record the save.
USA Men’s National Team jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. A solo blast by Derrick Zechman started the inning off. USA Men’s National Team then tacked on more runs when scored on a solo home run by Palazzo.
USA Men’s National Team pushed one run across in each of the second, third, sixth, and eighth. In the second, USA Men’s National Team scored, plating Freddy Carmona.
USA Men’s National Team posted one run in each of the third, sixth and eighth. In the third, USA Men’s National Team scored on a groundout by Kris Bogach, bringing home Josh Johnson.
