Nick Shailes leads Hill United Chiefs to 7-0 win over Cambridge Mass A1 Bombers

An outstanding effort by Nick Shailes carried Hill United Chiefs to a 7-0 win in five innings over Cambridge Mass A1 Bombers on Sunday at Brookside Main.
Shailes blasted two home runs for Hill United Chiefs. Shailes went 2-2 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Shailes homered in the first and fifth innings.
The biggest inning for Hill United Chief was the fifth. In the inning Hill United Chiefs scored six runs. Hill United Chiefs scored in the fifth on an RBI double by Bradley Ezekial, an RBI double by Joel Southam, a two-run home run by Shailes, a wild pitch, a wild pitch, and an RBI single by Craig Crawford.
Adam Folkard looked sharp in the circle. Cambridge Mass A1 Bombers managed just one hit off of the Hill United Chiefs’ pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his five innings of work.
Richard Haldane took the loss for Cambridge Mass A1 Bombers. He allowed seven runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.

The curse of copy and paste. The story was generated by the GameChanger scoring software. Appears that the algorithm needs spell check. That said, on balance, it’s pretty impressive software that can take the stats and generate a narrative story automatically. One other Fastpitchwest reader noted a story that mentioned the starting pitcher went “only 7 innings”, suggesting that the algorithm was set for baseball’s 9 inning games.
