This one from the way-way back machine, pre-internet days. Before Fastpitchwest, there was Al’s Fastball; before Al’s Fastball there was (Bob Tomlinson’s) Fastpitch Chronicle; and before the Fastpitch Chronicle, there was the Fastpitch Bulletin, by Ray Anderson (with ace reporter Betty Stoudt). Ran across this single (front) page while cleaning out some boxes, from over forty (40) years ago, January 1983. It’s a great slice of fastpitch history – mentioning two of the greatest players (pitchers) ever, Mark Smith and Kevin Herlihy. And for good measure, mentions two leaders of the day, Bob Van Impe and Milt Stark. Watch for updates to this note shortly.
