Colorado’s Freed’s Plumbing Knights Outslug Tramex for “A” Division Gold
On Sunday, April 7, 2024, the Freed’s Plumbing Knights faced off against Tramex in the Las Vegas Tournament “A” Division Championship Game, ultimately winning by a score of 17-15 in a high-scoring affair.
The Knights got off to a strong start, scoring three runs in the first inning and one in the second. They then added five more runs in the sixth inning, followed by three in the ninth and five more over the final two innings. The Knights’ offense was led by N Cole, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run, and three runs scored, and M Arellano, who had a perfect 5-for-6 day at the plate with two RBIs.
On the other side, Tramex fought hard throughout the game, scoring nine runs in the first inning to take an early lead. However, they were unable to maintain their momentum and only managed to score six more runs over the rest of the game. I Fuentes Jr and I Garcia were the top performers for Tramex, with Fuentes Jr scoring three runs and Garcia going 4-for-5 with two RBIs.
The Knights’ pitching staff, led by Jaden, who pitched 10 innings, allowed 3 earned runs on 16 hits and five walks while striking out seven. K Freed closed out the game, pitching a scoreless inning with one hit and one walk allowed.
For Tramex, E Gutierrez started the game and allowed eight runs (all earned) on 11 hits and four walks over 5.1 innings. E Rodriguez came in as relief and allowed six runs (three earned) on 10 hits over the final 5.2 innings.
In the end, the Freed’s Plumbing Knights emerged victorious in a closely contested, high-scoring game, with both teams combining for 32 runs and 38 hits.
