Final Bracket: A Division
The Freed’s Plumbing Knights of Colorado outlasted California’s Tramex squad to capture the A Division crown of the 2024 Las Vegas Road Trip Tournament in an offensive battle, 17-15.
The Freed’s Plumbing Knights won their first round game, a 7-5 Friday night win over Lushootseed CA. They played again Friday afternoon, posting a 9-6 win over the Homeboys of New Mexico, who had also won their opening round game over the Warriors of California, 12-2.
The Knights were back in action on Saturday at 9:30am, where they topped the Maccabi Rays, CA 10-0.
The Knight’s fourth game, played at 4:45pm Saturday night, proved to be one of their toughest, against the Beaumont Coyotes, who always seem to find their way to the top of the field at these events. In a winner’s bracket semi, the Knights prevailed over the Coyotes, 8-7, sending them to the Championship Game.
The Knights returned play, rested on Sunday at 11:30am to play in the Championship game against Tremex of CA who also entered the game unbeaten. Tremex had won their first three games by scores of 16-0 (JRM OH) 4-1 (Budmen), and 8-1 (Manderson A’s). It didn’t get any easier for the Knights, as the championship game against Tramex turned into a high scoring affair. The Knights won out, 17-15
Raymar vs. Tramex for Silver
The SCIFL’s Raymar team made a remarkable run through the lower bracket, winning four games Saturday and four more on Sunday including a final game win over a strong Tramex CA team to capture the tournament’s Silver Medal Game. The eight-in-a-row marks the longest tournament win streak in recent memory and one for the ages.
The Raymar squad could’ve saved on hotel rooms, as they were practically on the field for the last two days.
Raymar, a longtime member of the So Cal Independent Fastpitch League (SCIFL) that hosts the Las Vegas tournament lost their first game of the tournament, to J-Town, of Mexico, Friday afternoon, 8-1. That loss dropped them into the dark recesses of the NAFA-3-Game-Guarantee Bracket, where they started on the comeback trail.
