The lone returnee from the previous USA Jr. Men’s Team, Junior Centeno is back to have another shot at bringing home a medal for the USA in Whitehorse this summer. The 6’3 240 pound 1st Baseman from Salem, Utah is expected to be a force in the middle of the USA lineup, just as he was in Argentina in 2012.
After winning back to back 18U National Tournaments in 2012 and 2013 with County Materials, Centeno is an experienced player who possesses the valuable knowledge learned in a previous successful run at an ISF event. Centeno cites the importance of team chemistry leading up to and over the course of the event as a key to the team’s success. In addition to his exploits on the softball diamond, Centeno helped lead his Salem High School Team to the 2013 Utah 4A State Baseball Championship.
When asked what he enjoyed the most about softball, Centeno said:“just being there with friends doing what we all love to do”.
