A highly decorated high school athlete, Jimbo Pernetti of Ceres, CA has taken his tools on to Merced College where he will continue his baseball career. The 6’3, 205 pound Pernetti was a 3 time All- Conference baseball player at Ceres High School and was the Conference MVP his Junior year. He was also named to the All Conference basketball team and most importantly was a 4-year Scholar-Athlete award winner at Ceres. Pernetti, who was introduced to softball last year by one of his college coaches, Nate Devine, says he enjoys the quick pace of the game as much as anything.
A powerful force at the plate, Pernetti will see time at shortstop and 3rd base for the USA and will be counted on not just for his well established athletic skills but also for his maturity and leadership during the lead up and while at the World Championship in Whitehorse.
Pernetti is majoring in Kinesiology while at Merced and will open his baseball season there on January 28th.
