Faron Apauty started playing Men’s fast pitch as a boy in Oklahoma about 5 years ago at the age of 13. Now the 6’, 220 pound right hander from Anadarko is ready to head to Canada this summer to represent the United States as a pitcher and corner infielder for the USA Jr. Men’s Team. Faron showed his heart and determination this August when he came on in relief in the first championship game of the ASA 18U Nationals and then threw a complete game winner in the “if” Championship Game for County Materials. In those two games, on a steaming hot day, he outdueled two good pitchers who themselves were members of the 2012 USA Team pitching staff.
Over his career, Faron has also played with Dodge of El Reno, OK; Goodfella’s of Anadarko, OK; the Bears of Concho, OK; and the Choctaw Warriors of Choctaw, OK.
He was a 2013 State Qualifier in the Oklahoma High School Wrestling Tournament. This year he was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 2013 Warrior Christmas Classic Wrestling Tournament.
Faron said that he enjoyed getting the chance to play Men’s softball at the age of 13 but the best thing was getting a chance to play on the same team as his Dad, something he still enjoys today.
