A Chance to Help Out

We pass along this note from Kevin Liguore, regarding a great way to help out the family of the late Travis Law:

As you guys already know, we lost a great friend, teammate, and most important, husband and father, a few weeks ago in the passing of Travis Law. As you may or may not know, Travis has left a family which consists of his wife Lisa, and 4 sons(Matt 20 yrs, Dayton 8 yrs, and twin 4 year olds – Darius and Donovan).

His death was so sudden that there are now decisions that have to be made that are not easy for Lisa. She is in the process of getting her house ready to sell, a house that she and Travis bought 2 years ago in Gilroy. She plans to stay in the area but cannot afford the payments
for this house. There are many people in the community that have come to her aid. We(Country Club Softball) have been going over on weekends working on the house, doing what we can to get it ready to sell. They are very active in the school district, which have also helped them in different ways.

On Friday, August 4th, there will be a San Jose Giants game dedicated to the memory of Travis.

We are selling tickets at face value($9.00 adult, $6.00 children), which all but $.50 cents will go to the Travis Law Foundation. We are trying to sellout the stadium. There are many different
people/groups working on selling the tickets. Travis was a GREAT person. In all my years playing with him(at least 12), I never heard him say ONE negative thing about anyone. He was always encouraging to his teammates and treated the game as a game, probably since he had so much success as a baseball player(Oklahoma State/Triple A). He always had a smile on his face, except when he had a bat in his hand. 🙂

If you guys could help out and buy some tickets to attend the game, that would be great. If you could spread the word to any other softball players that may want to help and attend the fundraiser, I would really appreciate it. Hopefully you have some sort of email list for the
Angels, since many of the guys played against Travis and know him. We can figure out how I can get the tickets to you if you are interested.

I’m not sure if you are still playing the Hayward league, but if you are, maybe I can come up and bring the tickets(if you or someone else is interested) that night(whatever it is now).

Thanks
Kevin
