
[TAVISTOCK, ON] – Mark Johnson of Hill United was the man of the hour with a WALK OFF base hit to break a 3-3 tie between the number 1 and number 2 teams in the world, Hill United and the New York Gremlins, capping a three run seventh inning comeback against the Gremlins.
Hill United scored a run in the first inning which stood up until the 5th when the Gremlins scored three to take a 3-1 lead. Hill United was down to their final three outs when Jeff Ellsworth launched a 2-run homer to tie it. Hill United extended the inning, loading the bases on an intentional walk to Jason Hill, who had been hitless in the game. Mark Johnson stepped to the plate, and delivered the game winner, giving Hill United the win and the 2012 Cephas Roth title.
