Stop by for a cold schooner, old friends and some fastpitch yarns.

A bit about Joe Josts:

Joe Jost’s was founded in 1924 by my grandfather. Joe Jost’s is a Long Beach institution and one of the oldest continually operated taverns west of the Mississippi River. In fact, take a moment to learn more about the real Joe Jost here.

Joe Jost’s is known the world over for serving up the coldest beer, tastiest “Joe’s Special” sandwiches, pickled eggs and fresh roasted peanuts, and warmest atmosphere of any tavern in the United States.

Click here to see how many millions we’ve actually served ….AND COUNTING!

Speaking of cold beer, Joe’s used to serve a local favorite, Eastside Old Tap Lager, from 1934 until Eastside stopped making draft beer in the mid-1970’s. Today, Busch Bavarian Beer outsells all of our other tap beers. We’re proud to serve Busch and all of our tap beers at a frosty 29 degrees Fahrenheit. Need proof? Check out our amazing Keg Cam for the current temperature.

You won’t find low-carb wraps or fancy salads at Joe Jost’s. Nope, take a peek at our menu and you’ll see we’ve kept things pretty much the same since my grandfather began serving beer and food after prohibition in 1934.”

The highlight of our menu is the Joe’s Special, a favorite since 1934. It’s a freshly steamed, family recipe all-beef sausage on rye bread that’s baked especially to our specifications. Top it off with Swiss cheese, a sliced dill pickle, and some mustard and you’ve got a Long Beach legend that’s been served up to literally millions of happy customers for more than 70 years.

At Joe Jost’s, tradition is king. We’ve got more than 80 years of Long Beach history here at Joe’s. We’ve even archived a ton of great old photos, articles and films that’ll give you a feel for the great history of our place.

We love our customers; they come in from all over the world. Most of our regulars come from several generations of Long Beachers who’ve made Joe Jost’s the best neighborhood tavern anywhere. Take a moment to check out some of their testimonials and see for yourself why people love Joe’s.

And be sure to check out our Wall of Fame section to see the hundreds of places around the world our regulars have ventured in years past. It’s like taking a no-frills vacation right from home.

Even Hollywood knows Joe’s. Click here for a look at the many commercials, movies and TV shows that have been shot here. And if you’ve got an eye for glamorous gals, be sure to check out Joe Jost’s own calendar girls.

Joe’s is dedicated to making Long Beach a better city. Click here to see how we’ve been involved with the community for years. You can also check out some local residents here who also are making a positive difference, as well as updates on the latest news in and around Long Beach.

And don’t forget to stop by our online store for the finest selection of Joe Jost’s shirts, hats, accessories.

Thanks again for visiting our site. If you’re in Long Beach, be sure to stop by.

We’ll keep a frosty schooner waiting for you.
