[ALBUQUERQUE] – Wanted to thank my family and friends that helped out with the “cinco de mayo “NAFA Men’s Wood bat national Tournament qualifier played In memory of my dad. There were some great teams that showed up and represented well. Congratulations to Dave Parker abd his Midland Texas “Rio Grande Alliance”, for winning the tournament, Coming from the losers bracket to win three straight games on Sunday to pull it out the Championship. Dave Parker and Clark Evans you guys run a class act with the NAFA Organization. Also congrats to the El Paso “Outsiders” for representing and showing how Men’s Fastpitch softball is supposed to be played.
Safe travels home to all the teams especially the Newton Kansas team who traveled a long way to play some fastpitch. The sport here in Albuquerque isn’t what it used to be in the 80″s & 90″s when theY had Three different men’s fast pitch city leagues. My dad used to get kind of sad when he would go to our league games last year and the teams picked up players or played short a player. But at least for one weekend he could know that a few real competitive fast pitch softball players and lots of my friends who have no league this year and playing for the first time this year Have passion for the game and took the field and represented very well. Also got to enjoy the weekend In his memory of him with my sister, and with my family and awesomke Albuquerque weather.
Thanks guys. Rest in piece pops. Hope I made you proud.
