(Ottawa, ON) Softball Canada is pleased to announce the list of seventeen (17) athletes who will represent Canada as members of the Men’s National Team at the WBSC Men’s World Softball Championship from June 26 to July 5, 2015 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The final roster was determined at the Men’s National Team selection camp held this past weekend in Kitchener, Ontario.
“We are very happy to announce our roster for the upcoming WBSC Men’s World Softball Championship” stated John Stuart, Head Coach of the Canadian Men’s National Softball Team.“Our athletes are mentally and physically prepared to compete at the top international level and they showed just that at our selection camp this past weekend. We all look forward to the opportunity to represent our country on home soil in Saskatoon.”
The coaching staff is scheduled to announce the fifteen (15) athletes named to the 2015 Pan American Games Men’s Softball team through the Canadian Olympic Committee on June 11. That event will take place the week after the conclusion of WBSC Men’s World Softball Championship – from July 12-18 – with the top six (6) teams from the Pan American region competing.
At the previous WBSC Men’s World Championship held in 2013 in Auckland, New Zealand, Team Canada locked up first place in its pool but lost its first two playoff games to finish fifth. The team last competed at the 2014 Pan American Softball Championship from October 24 to November 1 in Parana, Argentina, winning a bronze medal.

Softball Canada annonce l’équipe nationale masculine pour le
Championnat du monde de softball masculin 2015 de la WBSC
(Ottawa, ON) Softball Canada est heureux d’annoncer la liste de dix-sept (17) athlètes qui représenteront le Canada comme membres de l’équipe nationale masculine au Championnat du monde de softball masculin de la WBSC du 26 juin au 5 juillet 2015 à Saskatoon, au Saskatchewan. La formation finale a été déterminée au camp de sélection de l’équipe nationale masculine qui a eu lieu la fin de semaine dernière à Kitchener, en Ontario.
« Nous sommes très heureux d’annoncer notre formation pour le Championnat du monde de softball masculin de la WBSC » a dit John Stuart, entraîneur chef de l’équipe nationale de softball masculin. « Nos athlètes sont préparés mentalement et physiquement à faire compétition au niveau international le plus élevé et ils l’ont démontré à notre camp de sélection la fin de semaine dernière. On a tous hâte à l’occasion de représenter notre pays sur notre propre sol à Saskatoon. »
Le personnel des entraîneurs annoncera les quinze (15) athlètes nommés à l’équipe de softball masculin des Jeux panaméricains de 2015 en conjonction avec le Comité olympique canadien le 11 juin. Cet événement aura lieu la semaine après la conclusion du Championnat du monde de softball masculin de la WBSC – du 12 au 18 juillet – alors que les six (6) meilleures équipes de la région panaméricaine sera en compétition.
Au dernier Championnat du monde masculin de la WBSC qui a eu lieu en 2013 à Auckland, en Nouvelle-Zélande, l’équipe canadienne s’est mérité le premier rang de sa division mais a perdu ses deux premières parties de la ronde éliminatoire pour terminer cinquième. La dernière fois que l’équipe a fait compétition était au Championnat panaméricain de softball masculin de 2014 du 24 octobre au 1 novembre à Paraná, en Argentine, remportant la médaille de bronze.
