The 23-and-under division of the ASA Men’s Fastpitch National Championships at Emerson Park ended Sunday with an exciting 5-4 win for Midland Explorers Blue over Midland Explorers Red.
With the game tied 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh, Blue’s Kolbi Shumaker singled to lead off, took second on a passed ball, and came around to score the game-winning, walkoff run on a wild pickoff throw.
Jon Gwizdala struck out 18 in earning the win, while Travis Jones struck out 14 in taking the defeat. Click here to continue reading at The Midland Daily News.
