From Kyle Beane
The 8th annual Special Olympics/ISC game was held last Wednesday in South Bend, and surprising to no one, the ISC All Stars were shut out 33-0!!
We had one of our best turnouts ever, with over 30 ISC players and coaches. 14 of the ISC umpires helped guide the game along.
But the real stars were the players from the Special Olympics team who gave 100% on every play and reminded us all that is still just a game.
If anyone has a group pic they’d like to share, please post it.
Each Special Olympics player was given 3 souvenirs from the teams and tournament – new hats and t-shirts. I may miss someone but the following provided the souvenirs:
New York Gremlins
Hill United
California A’s
Toronto Batmen
Sandlot Sports
Great Lakes Mariners
Pueblo Bandits
(My apologies for the ones I missed, we had gear coming in right til the last minute from a lot of different people.
And to the players and umpires who came out, you put a lot of smiles on faces that day – great job.
Craig Crawford Jennifer Johnson Patterson Juan Potolicchio Bruno Motroni Cody Skelton Todd Hamblin Jason Shea Shea Bryant Nathan Devine Ed Otterman Gregg Leather Ty McKinney
These guys were only a few of the ISC players, coaches and umpires. The entire field was full and created a great atmosphere for the game.
This game will be back next year in Quad Cities!!
